Job description: I am currently recruiting a Band 6 Community Registered Learning Disability Nurse to join an NHS Community Team in Lancashire.

Hours: 37.5 hours
Days: Monday - Friday
Contract: 13 weeks (+ongoing)
Salary: £23-24p/hr (Ltd)

The community service provides specialist support to children aged 0-18years who have a diagnosis of moderate, severe and profound learning disability. The team also work in conjunction with the Paediatric service and CAMHS to collectively run the diagnostic pathway for the assessment of autistic spectrum disorder in school aged children.

Assessments are carried out by qualified professionals, and interventions are planned around each individual child or young person. The Learning Disability/Complex Needs Team work with individuals and families to assess and identify need. The following are some examples of the issues they support children and families with; Behaviour, Anger management, Sleep, Puberty, personal relationships and sexual health, Social skills, Diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Understanding autistic spectrum disorders.

The multidisciplinary team (MDT) includes; Consultant psychiatrist, Clinical psychologists, Registered Learning Disability Nurses, Nursery nurse, Associate Practitioners, Health Care Support Workers

*The applicant must be a Qualified Mental Health Nurse who is currently registered with the NMC
*The applicant must have a minimum 6 months employed experience working in Community Mental Health in areas such as CMHT, Assertive Outreach, Early Intervention, Crisis Resolution, Primary Care etc.
*The applicant must hold a full valid driving license and a car is essential to use as part of the job role.
