Job description: Registered Manager needed for Devon County Council, £21.13 ltd an hour

Start Date- ASAP
Contract End date- 3 months (chance of extension)
Hours per week - 37
Pay rate - £21.13 ltd an hour

Job Purpose
To involve children and families in the day to day running of the service, providing children with the opportunity to express their views in an age appropriate way, to have their opinions taken into account and to be able to influence the shaping of services.
To ensure that Safeguarding policies are adhered to.
To be responsible for the Home's budget; staffing; compliance with Ofsted registration criteria; and all relevant Devon County Council (DCC) and Home specific policies and procedures.
*You will need to exhibit management and leadership skills including:
*Managing staff teams
*Supervision and personal development programmes
*Delivery and review of Care Plans;
*Medication management
*Budget management
*Contribute to the development of the service.
*Ongoing professional development
*Compliance with Ofsted registration and Children's Homes Regulations 2015
*To contribute to the wider strategic development of services for children with additional needs.
*To ensure competitiveness with other service providers in terms of quality and cost.
*To cover evening and weekend shifts as required and contribute to an on-call rota as required.
*Communication with Estates managers, Schools, HR and Finance managers
*The post holder will have overall responsibility for the supervision and deployment of staff within the agreed Policies and Procedures of DCC. The post holder must have experience, knowledge and skills in the following areas:
*Young People with additional needs such as; Epilepsy; Autism; Asperger's Syndrome & Associated Disorders; Emotional & Challenging Behaviour; Physical and Sensory Disability / Impairment etc.
*The arrangement of support to children, young people and families.
*Work collaboratively with other family support services to ensure continuity of care for children and families.

What is required?
*Experience of working in a residential care establishment at managerial level, as well as a recognised qualification that is essential for Ofsted registration i.e. Diploma Level 5 Leadership & Management in Social Care or a Health and Social Care equivalent qualification whilst working towards this diploma
*Over 2 years' experience at a management level in Health and/or Social Care, ideally with a Social Work or Nurse qualification
*Knowledge of carers issues, including legal framework. You will require specialist knowledge in the area of young people with additional needs, including complex health and physical and behavioural assessment and treatments. Due to this, experience in dealing with some of the most challenging situations with young people is essential to this role, alongside being able to support and debrief the staff after incidents have occurred
*D1 Bus driver or be willing to achieve
