Job description: Registered Mental Health Nurse, Band 5

Vacancy working within the mental health treatment team, treating older adults, based in Southampton.

A mental health nurse is needed to join a busy team, providing holistic care for older people who have acute mental health needs and, on admission, are unable to look after themselves. The role involves assessing, supporting and treating older people who are experiencing mental health crisis.

The candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care under indirect supervision from senior staff. They are expected to be able to demonstrate procedures and supervise unqualified staff, and work without direct supervision once the key learning outcomes of the foundation programme are complete

Candidates must be a qualified RMN with a valid NMC Pin. The ability to work autonomously and under pressure is essential.

The role is full-time, initially on a three month contract, with opportunity to continue further.
There are opportunities to work long days and nights in this role.

The hourly rate for the role is £18.00-£28.00.
