Job description: The Finance team at a Camden based Housing Association are looking to recruit a Finance Officer, to lead, motivate and manage the rent accounting team, ensuring objectives and aims are clear and concise and all targets are specific, achievable, well communicated and monitored.

The Role
As a Finance Manager you would be expected to:
-Lead, motivate and manage the rent accounting team, ensuring objectives and aims are clear and concise and all targets are specific, achievable, well communicated and monitored.
-Ensuring all rent adjustments are entered on the ledger accurately and timely
-Ensuring all rent receipts are entered on ledger
-Ensuring processing of all period charges on ledger
-Respond to internal and external queries on rent payments and receipts
-Banking of all cheque payments relating to rents is made in a timely manner
-Production of rent ledger reports and monitors in conjunction with Head of Transactional Services
-Regularly review and control the Group rent suspense account, liaising with other staff to resolve problems and queries
-Assist in the investigation and reporting of rent voids
-Reconciling rent control account monthly
-Check setup records for new schemes
-Verify the bad debts figures and provide analysis and commentary to appropriate team(s)
-Investigate and rectify system issues (e.g. failed rent debit runs) with appropriate parties
-Maintain up to date files of all rent input documents and printouts
-Reconciling rent bank accounts and rent debit controls
Other Duties
-Keep up to date with Financial Reporting Standards, SORP's, HMRC and HCA regulatory requirements where appropriate for this position.
-To add value by recommending VfM initiatives where applicable within the department.
-Ensure that responsibilities for Health and Safety are properly understood and discharged
The Candidate
To be considered for this role it is required that the individual has experience leading a team, with extensive knowledge of accounting, the housing sector and rent accounting. The ability to lead key projects, supervising the team to ensure that projects are delivered on time. Knowledge and previous experience of Sun systems for finance, Housing Database or equivalent systems,
The Contract
This is a 6-week contract starting on the 21st January running till 1st March, 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
