Job description: Rental Income Team Manager, Hammersmith and Fulham
A London Local Authority are looking to recruit a Rental Income Team Manager, to provide operational leadership of the Rental Income Team, including maximising income from current tenant arrears, maximising the sustainment of tenancies, developing partnerships with external agencies and managing of all functions regarding to possession claims and evictions. Rental Income Team Manager will also be responsible for promoting excellent customer care, managing and developing staff and recommending improvements.

The Role
Your key duties within the role will include the following:
-Contribute to and implement the Rental Income strategies, policies and procedures that aim to maximise income by improving rent collection, reducing rent arrears and promoting tenancy sustainment
-Maximise rental income through demonstrating commercial awareness that will maximise collection of the yearly annual debit
-Ensure that team members understand how they contribute to achieving corporate targets and promote engagement through personal example, recognition and communication
-Manage the recruitment, performance and development of a team of staff. Ensure that all team members receive clear objectives and targets, regular reviews and personal development plans, along with feedback on their performance.
-Ensure that all Council policies, procedures and processes in relation to current arrears, former tenant arrears and the court pre-action protocol are followed
-Provide direction, guidance and support for team members on all issues regarding current and former tenant rent accounts
-Meet with residents in reception who are at pre-eviction stage and where appropriate, meet with residents in their homes
-Analyse and report on key performance indicators within the team, to ensure that activity is delivered within the agreed targets and to identify opportunities to increase value for money

The Candidate
To be considered for this role a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation, the regulatory framework, court pre-action protocol which governs housing and associated case law. A track record of achievement within rental income management in a social housing environment including evidence of an understanding of the statutory and regulatory functions. A successful record of managing a team to drive effective performance and service.

The Contract
This is a full-time role for 36 hours, 16 week contract starting ASAP.
