Job description: Reserve Driver - Redhill

We are currently recruiting a Reserve Driver in Redhill within the local council.

Your Main duties / responsibilities of role
*Undertake either working alone or as part of a team, the collection of Waste, Recycling and all
*Cleansing services at variety of locations throughout the Borough
*Receiving instructions regarding exempt collections, special arrangements and specific collection
*points and ensuring these are carried out
*Assisting as required with vehicle manoeuvring both during collection operations and at the point of
*vehicle discharge
*Be responsible for a major capital asset in driving refuse collection vehicles as required
*Conduct all duties in a safe and proper manner, as defined in the Safe Working Practices, Risk
*Assessments and Specific Site Rules, that may apply when working away from the depot.
*When disposing of Waste abide by the rules set out by the allocated transfer station / landfill site
*Promote a positive, efficient and effective image of the Council and at all times act within the
*council's Customer Care policy and Dress Policy
*Promote ideas for improving the Service
*The delivery of new sacks as collections material e.g. bin hanger etc.

All applicants must:

a)have a full, current 'C' category driving licence which enables them to drive in Northern Ireland (a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) will be provided for the purposes of fulfilling the duties of this post);
b)have a full, current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification; and
*be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, at least one year's relevant work experience of each of the following:
c)driving a LGV in a commercial or public sector environment; and
d)dealing directly with members of the public, in person.

Working hours - 45 hours per week. Monday- Friday. 06:00 am - 15:45 pm
