Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Revenues Officer with a full working knowledge of Council Tax and business rate based in at Local Authority in London. Key responsibilities in this position will require the individual to assist in providing an effective, efficient and customer focused service. Playing an important role in a range from the billing, collection and recovery of council tax and business rates.
Accountabilities
As a Senior Revenues Officer there is a wide spectrum of roles and responsibilities that will be covered, including the following:
*Maximising and recovering the Council's income, instigating appropriate recovery action using a variety of methods from making and monitoring individual financial arrangements with customers to liaising with a number of different Council employees including Bailiffs, leading to the referral of bankruptcy, liquidation and charging order cases.
*Administer, collect and recover Council tax and business rates
*Process and respond to correspondence and information for tax and ratepayers.
*Undertake all telephone, face to face and other enquires as required, ensuring advice is precise and clear to ensure a customer satisfaction is of the highest standard.
*Instigate recovery action for non-payment.

The Candidate
To be considered for the role it is vital that the candidate has an extensive knowledge of the law and practice relating to the recovery of council tax and business rates, with an ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload in a pressurized, target driven organization. Experience using Northgate and Info@work. Be able to work weekly shift rota basis from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Thursday, and Friday, 9am to 5pm.

The Contract
Start date is the 21/01/2019 till the 20/07/2019 on a full time basis.
