A Berkshire based council are recruiting for a Rough Sleeper Worker based in Slough. To deliver a high quality and customer focussed housing needs service, including housing advice and homelessness services. Including -
*Housing Advice
*Homelessness Prevention
*Housing Needs Assessment

The Role
*The rough sleeping reduction service works as part of a multi-agency effort, liaising with the local authority, police and other agencies to address street homelessness, with a particular focus upon those individuals entrenched in the cycle of rough sleeping. The service will work with internal and external partners to identify, and respond to, reports of rough sleepers and maintain an accurate overview of the local picture. Provide advice and referrals to services which meet the customers individual needs e.g. health care, substance misuse services, housing and benefits. The overall aim is to enable people sleeping rough to address their needs, improve health and to find appropriate solutions to end their homelessness, also to encourage people to lead a more settled way of life, by providing support and appropriate referrals to a range of services to those, at risk of rough sleeping.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must have:
*Experience of working in Housing Advice, Homelessness or Tenancy Relations role.
*Experience of providing services to a diverse client group, managing difficult and vulnerable customers professionally and effectively, within the context of a front line customer focused service.
*Knowledge of current housing, immigration and related legislation, case law, policies and good practice. Including Protection from Eviction Act 1977, relevant Housing Acts and Homelessness Acts

The Contract
This is a temporary contact starting 13/01/2020 for a 3 month period, working 37 hours per week.
