Job description: Safeguarding Partnership Manager| Sheffield City Council

Reporting directly to the Head of Service. This role is to lead and develop the local Safeguarding Children and Adult Boards.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities are;
1.Ensure effective governance arrangements are in place for each Board and the style, format and outcomes of board meetings are in line with expectations of the Independent Chair and partners
2.To lead and develop the Safeguarding Officers to maximise resources and to support delivery of the Board priorities
3.To inform and advise the Boards of safeguarding issues arising from legislation, government guidance and policy and the local implications for service delivery
4.Produce strategic and operational plans setting out the priorities for the Boards and ensuring implementation and best outcomes are achieved

The Partnership Manager will work closely with the Independent Chair and the Professional Advisers to the Boards to ensure that the Safeguarding partnerships are properly supported, functioning effectively and performing their responsibilities. The role will work under the management of the AD/ Heads of Service responsible for Adult and Childrens Safeguarding. Although the role is split between Adults and Childrens Safeguarding 50:50 there will be opportunities for joint working as much of the membership and roles of the Boards have common purpose or overlap. The Partnership Manager will be key in identifying and maximising these opportunities. The Partnership Manager will work with operational Safeguarding leads across partnership organisations and support Operational and Executive board members in achieving the aims of the Business Plan
