Job description: Scomis Group Business Manager needed for Devon County Council, £25.51 ltd an hour (negotiable)

Start Date- ASAP
Contract End date- 6 months (chance of extension)
Hours per week - 37
Pay rate - £25.51 ltd an hour (negotiable)
Location - Exeter

Purpose:
The Business Manager is a senior position that reports directly to the Head of SCOMIS. This role is a senior management position that is accountable for the SCOMIS Group's Business Management function, who design and deliver a significant range of ICT services to Devon County Council, Councillors, Heads of Service, Staff and citizens as well as Schools and Educational establishments nationally. The SCOMIS Group has circa 200 staff.
The role of the Business Manager role is to;
Advise the Head of Service on the financial risks and opportunities for the Scomis Group based on a full understanding of the functions and responsibilities;
Be responsible for the development of techniques and mechanisms for financial planning for the Scomis Group to enhance financial decision making over the medium and longer term;
Ensure that statutory accounting codes of practice are followed by all staff and members throughout the Scomis Group

What is required?
*Experience in managing change, exploiting new opportunities and developing a positive performance management and improvement culture
*Highly developed strategic and operational leadership skills
*Possess the ability to undertake comprehensive financial evaluations
*Must hold commercial awareness and be able to work with the Sales and Marketing Manager
*Highly numerate and excellent verbal and written communication skills
*An academic qualification at degree level or equivalent
*CIMA or CIPFA, or Insitute of Financial Accountants
*Significant experience of leading colleagues across all levels to implement change and improvement
*Experience of profit and debt, cash-flow and expenditure
*Experience of management multi-million pound budgets
