Job description: SEN Planning Review Officer needed for Dorset Council, £13 ltd an hour

Start Date- ASAP
Contract End date- 3 months initially
Hours per week - 37 hours
Pay rate - £13 ltd an hour
Team - Special Educational Needs
Location - Dorchester

Description
*To undertake the transfer of Statement to Education, Health and Care Plans (where appropriate) in line with the statutory requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014 and under the direction of the SEN Managers
*Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of current legislation and best working practices relating to the Local Authority SEN function
*Draft EHC Plans consistent with interpretation of current Statement, collated professional advice, the needs of the child, statutory requirements, local policy and the Local Offer
*Facilitate, or occasionally chair, meetings with young people, parents, schools and professionals to undertake the transfer process

What is required?
*Proven background of literacy and numeracy skills e.g. Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above.
*Considerable experience of working within an area of statutory regulations and applying local policy, preferably in an SEN related area, or demonstrate the ability to learn to do this
*Ability to work as part of a team
*Ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
