Job description: Service Care Solutions are working with Peterborough City Council in recruiting for an Senior Early Help Direct Intervention Worker.

Job Purpose

To manage 4xFTE Early Help Direct Intervention Workers providing in-person family support in the home including the provision of all appropriate supervision and support for those staff
To be responsible for own case load, visiting families up to twice a week, with some flexibility needed on the times of visits.
To attend the 3 x locality based Multi-Agency Support Group (MASG) Panels to discuss cases and take referrals, managing caseloads across the team
To provide analysis and progress reports from the team.
Main Duties

*To receive, allocate and co-ordinate the caseload within the Early Help Support Team (including taking on own case load) to ensure timely assessments, and the required provision/co-ordination of interventions to be taken up which meets the identified support needs of the families in their own homes in order to promote well-being and improve outcomes.
*To take responsibility for the Health and Safety requirements of the Early Help Direct Intervention workers especially in relation to ensuring full adherence to the PCC Lone Working policy and ensuring risk assessments are completed as appropriate
*To ensure that the policies, procedures and practice for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children are implemented effectively within Peterborough City Council and relevant Local Safeguarding Children Board policies and procedures. This will, on occasions, require the worker to submit a direct referral to Children's Social Care.
*To provide individual support to families in the family home on own case load who are affected by a range of issues which can include disability, domestic violence, welfare rights parenting and challenging behaviours.
*To provide time-limited interventions as directed by the Multi-Agency Support Group (MASG) panels with clear objectives, outcomes and exit strategies.
*To assess the needs of the family where no current Early Help Assessment exists in order to promote their well-being and improve outcomes.
*To work with Early Help as part of a Team Around the Family, which includes attending external meetings fulfilling the roles of Lead Professional in some situations.
*To develop and use a range of innovative approaches to effectively engage with and develop services for families, especially those who are hard to reach.

Skills required:

* A DBS from within the last 12 months
* Applications are invited from those with a care background.
* We will need 2 references
* A Car driver is beneficial but not essential
