Job description: Role: Senior Finance Officer
Location: Newark, NG24
Work pattern: Full time - 37 hours, Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm
Start date: 30/09/2019
End date: 30/03/2020

I'm looking for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to work in their busy Finance and Customer Service Department. You will undertake accountancy tasks of a professional and technical nature to deliver effective financial management and high performance of the company affairs. You will report to the strategic finance manager and be responsible for the production of the financial year end accounts budget management, effective financial business planning and financial support to strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities
*You will be responsible for the day to day activity within the team which includes Finance Officers and Finance Assistants. You will manage and motivate your team of staff and oversee performance monitoring, recruitment and provide guidance ensuring team members receive performance feedback.
*Support the Principle Accountant in the preparation of revenue and capital budgets and the preparation of budget monitoring information.
*Provide expert financial advice to customer's/budget holders, including advice about capital resources to support the preparation of bids of funding from external bodies.
*Decide how to design and implement effective processes and systems for the planning and monitoring of budgets.
*Produce information reports and analyse complex data for customers so that customers receive accurate and up to date reports.
*Set targets, monitor performance and review potential changes to systems to ensure services and/or projects are delivered successfully.


Essential Experience:

*You will have significant operational experience within a large organisation in a similar role.
*You will hold a relevant professional qualification or will have significant relevant professional experience
*You will be able to build positive relationships both internal and external.
*You will have experience managing and motivation staff to achieve organisational objectives
*You will be able to oversee projects and work programmes.
*You must have experience of dealing with suppliers and customers, maintaining a high level of customer service.
