Job description: Senior Practitioner - North West London - Fostering Services

A qualified and experienced Senior Practitioner is required to work within one of North London's Local Authority's in their Fostering Services.

In this role, you'll being on an initial 3 month contract with a view to being extended into an ongoing role.

In order to be eligible to apply, you will need:

*HCPC registration
*A degree in Social Work
*Three years post qualification experience of working in a Children and Families Division, including experience in a family placements service.
*A proven track record as a Senior Practitioner within a Fostering team environment
*Sound knowledge of the Fostering Regulations and national minimum standards and other related policies such as private fostering, short breaks and connected persons fostering.
*Experience of giving supervision, an ability to evidence the assessment and motivation of staff, identifying training needs

Your duties as a Senior Practitioner will include:

*To focus on our customers, take responsibility, work collaboratively and find a better and more economical way of doing things.
*You will have supervisory responsibility for a small group of supervising social workers within the fostering team working within the remit of the Camden Model of Social Work systemic supervisory framework.
*You will also be delegated responsibility for overseeing a core component of the fostering teams services and will work closely with the Team Manager to ensure best practice in this area.
*You will be joining a stable team of dedicated and enthusiastic social work practitioners who take pride in their work with a highly skilled and professional foster carers.
*The team's achievements are numerous and include the implementation of a multi-agency children and young people's strategy, which has assisted the move towards closer integration of services and multi-agency working.
*We work closely with the LAC and Care Leaver service and the Adoption and Permanence teams.
