Job description: I am working on behalf of Essex Council whom are recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Emergency Duty Service based in Broomfield Hospital.

The emergency duty team offer a comprehensive generic Social Work service to the residents of Essex & Southend at all times by responding emergency referrals under the supervision of the Duty Manager




Key Accountabilities

* Receiving and evaluating referrals and ensuring an appropriate professional response consistent with the Emergency Duty Service Model
* Undertaking formal assessments under the Mental Health Act
* Undertaking risk assessments for children and young people
* Undertaking Child Protection Assessments with particular reference to Section 47 of the Children Act.
* Acting as appropriate adult, under PACE regulation
* Giving advice and support to all service users as appropriate
* Attending Team and other Directorate meetings arranged and where essential, attending court proceedings, case conference and Mental Health Tribunals
* Participating in and contributing to the administrative functions of the Service and providing reports if required by the Service Manager
* Using information systems to carry out duties as required
Knowledge, skills and experience

*Diploma or Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent
*Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as Registered Social Worker
