Job description: Service Charge Analyst, London (SE1)
A large, London-based housing association are recruiting for a Service Charge analyst to join the team and ensure Service Chargeable costs are processed correctly and maximise income.

The Role
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
*Work with the business managers to ensure that service charge cost information is accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
*Ensure that service chargeable costs are entered into the service charge model to enable income to be maximised..
*Ensure accurate estimation and reconciliation of all service charges with actual costs for all tenure types (i.e. tenants, leaseholders, shared owners and freeholders) with reference to financial budgets, current legislation and agreements.
*Work with the procurement team & suppliers to create & maintain a process that allocates charges based on third party schedules.
*Perform reconciliations between various data sets making certain that charges are appropriately applied.
*Certify that charges have been entered into the correct account codes within the financial system & correct if necessary.
*Build up a good working knowledge of the service charge model so it can be administered accurately.
*Ensure that any changes to charges are made accurately so residents are charged the correct amounts.
*Perform the monthly reconciliation process between the service charge model & SUN accounts.
*Work closely with Income team when annual rent review and invoicing is carried out, providing service charge information for rent review process.
*Ensure that estimated and actual costs are produced accurately and on time. Keep and supply third party service charge information for sending out to residents.
*Being able to advise the business on service charges from both historic & forecasting point of view.
*Use analytical techniques to identify inconsistent charges to be investigated.
*Liaise with suppliers & managing agents, to establish if the intended parties are responsible for the services provided ensuring VFM is a consideration.

The Candidate
To be considered for the role, you will require the following skills and experience:
*Accounting background
*The service charge, rent and central database modules of the In-house computer system.
*Service charge legislation and accounting
*Knowledge of the application of service charges in the social housing sector.
*Excellent communication skills/confident communicator
*Project and time management skills
*Sound numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
*Proven excel skills, handling, manipulating and checking large volumes of data
*Ability to achieve strenuous performance targets
*Use of Microsoft Office products- e.g. Word, Excel

The Contract
This is a full time position, on a temporary contract, running until the end of February 2019.
