Job description: To ensure the Association meets all its statutory and regulatory functions relating to service charges. To provide an effective and responsive service to all tenants, leaseholders, shared owners and other residents and staff on all matters relating to the assessment and preparation of service charges across all tenure types.

1. Assist with delivery of service charge projects including service charge budgeting and income & expenditure accounts ensuring at all times high quality data analysis is undertaken. (e.g. ensuring high quality analysis of scheme and block level expenditure, regular liaison with Leasehold Property Management, acting as point of contact for external accountants during examination).
2. Maintain and update the service charge database.
3. Ensure that new properties are set up with budgets and charges in the service charge database.
4. Confirm new charges and changes in periodicity with lettings when required.
5. Responsible for providing regular and accurate performance information to the Service Charge Manager and Head of Service Charge relating to service charge matters.
6. Advise and assist in completing prior year service charge adjustments for the business where required.
7. Assist Operational Teams (Leasehold, Housing and Care & Support) to ensure revision of service charge estimates are carried out in an accurate and timely manner. Provide liaison between these teams and the service charge team, at all times keeping accurate and up to date records of any change requirements.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must have:
*Knowledge and/or experience of both fixed and variable service charge delivery
*Knowledge and/or experience of Service Charge legislation including Landlords and Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, Service Charge (Consultation Requirements)(England) Regulations 2003)
*Knowledge of interpreting leases, legal agreements, service charge deeds, terms of transfer and tenancy agreements
*General understanding of building technology, repairs and cyclical maintenance requirements and development processes
*Knowledge / Experience of management of properties on long leases, variable service charges and Section 20 Consultation requirements
*Experience of undertaking Section 20 Consultation or a clear demonstration of the understanding and application of relevant legislative/regulatory requirements
The Contract
This is a contact starting ASAP on a 4-6 week contract, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
