Job description: A West-midlands housing association are looking to recruit a Service Development Officer in order to carry out a 6 month long project, the suitable candidate much be able to provided effective support to the Head of Rent and Service Charges with the aim of maximising legitimate income across all tenures. Work alongside other colleagues in the team and across the group to support administration of the Service Charge Module.

The Role
Your key duties within the role will include the following:
-Support and enable the compliant management of service charges to ensure we meet the requirements of relevant legislation, leases, and regulation
-Be a centre of expertise regarding Sinking Funds and Depreciation (Usage) charges
-Develop and maintain links with key internal managers and officers to support them to develop schedules of depreciated items, determine the consistent application of life cycles and assess remaining life on key elements
-Use your operational experience to support the personal development of colleagues in proactively managing Sinking funds and depreciation charges
-Drive the project to produce depreciation schedules ensuring deadlines are met and information is accurate
-Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve accuracy in this process
-Work with front line officers and partner agencies to audit scheme based equipment and obtain agreement to the final schedules
-All work to be undertaken in line with the Group's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Customer Involvement, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding
The Candidate
To be considered for this role experience of working within housing associations and the act of setting rents/service charges is essential. A strong knowledge of computerised housing management systems and there use is needed.

The Contract
This is a full-time role for 37 hours, on a 6-month contract
