Job description: Service Improvement Manager, Lambeth

We are looking to recruit an experienced Service Improvement Manager with knowledge of children's services to support the joint strategic needs assessment programme. This is to be based in Lambeth, South West London.

The purpose of the role is to review and write a series of reports in Business Objectives for the Council's Children's Social Care Division.

The vacancy is to work Full Time hours and to start ASAP!

The post is initially for three months but may be extended.

Some of your duties will include:
*Identify opportunities for service improvement based on performance reporting. Liaise with service directorate leadership to develop a plan for improvement based on underperforming Key Performance Indicators, or otherwise qualitative or quantitative evidence that demonstrates improvement is required.
*Build an in-depth understanding of how local government services are delivered, wider context and challenges, in order to deliver an effective and meaningful service to customers. Work flexibly to support different directorates, building depth and breadth of knowledge.
*Drive continuous improvement; deploy performance management tools and technology to make the service provided to customers more efficient and effective. Proactively develop skills in service improvement, keeping up with leading practice in the area.
