Job description: Job Purpose - Service Manager

The post holder will lead, supervise and develop a team to provide support to service users appropriate to their individual needs to ensure each service user leads an independent and fulfilling life.

Key responsibilities will include:

 To observe and communicate effectively with patients, families and other professionals.
 To be involved in support with therapy groups and activities.
 Facilitate the daily routines of the service users including personal care promoting a high standard of personal hygiene at all times.
 Participate in the development of the service user(s) support plans, risk assessments and programmes, complete written records as necessary and in accordance with the guidelines provided.
 Implement individual support plans to meet the needs of the service user(s).
 Establish and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders in order to compliment and contribute to the positive reputation of the company.
 To provide line management to a designated team of staff within a specified group at a location or group of locations within the allocated division.
 To undertake any reasonable traveling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role. This may include supporting other locations within the Division as required.
 To set and communicate high standards of care and professional conduct within the team supervised.
 To lead and support in health and safety duties as appropriate
 To contribute information for the accurate notification of incidents/accidents/safeguarding as appropriate.
 Contributing to effective liaison with stakeholders and external agencies with local authorities, families, advocates, GPs, local safeguarding teams, other departments and professionals within the realms of Health and Social Care that have an impact on service provision in consultation with senior colleagues.
 To monitor and be responsible for the day to day spending at the location, to include Trust and service user monies.
 To empower staff and service users to maintain a homely environment.
 To attend monthly manager meetings and contribute to the agenda.  Ensure that all policies and procedures related to the running of the home are adhered to and any new and amended policies are read, understood and signed by all staff supporting in the home.
