Job description: One of the largest housing associations in the East Midlands are recruiting for a Sheltered Housing Coordinator to provide the housing management service at one of their sheltered housing schemes in Chesterfield, on a Part Time Basis for six months.

The Role
The focus of this role is to provide an Intensive housing management service at scheme and residents aged 55+ living within sheltered housing environment. This will involve ensuring the well-being of service users, carrying out health and safety checks as well as the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Facilitate Residents Meetings on site as and when required and record outcomes and circulate all.
*Report repairs, in accordance with the organisation's procedures for residents and communal areas and monitor the quality of services is provided by contractors on scheme.
*Work alongside Asset Management identify residents who have a specific need relating planned programme works, ensuring that any issues are reported.
*Ensure all mandatory training identified for the role is attended timely and follow up refresher courses are attended.
*Provide onsite management and supervision of sheltered housing schemes with regard security, health and safety & maintenance, ensuring that communal areas and scheme office are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards.
*Carry out statutory and cyclic H&S checks of the work area and on the operation of equipment, e.g. Fire alarm, smoke alarm, emergency lighting, emergency alarms and pull cord systems. Reporting any failures immediately ensuring all actions are documented and followed up, ensure 100 % compliance.
*Carry out pre tenancy interviews and accompanied viewings, assessment of housing needs and sign ups ensure sustainability of tenure for the applicant.
*Advise and assist residents with any tenancy related issues.
*Carry out a home visit within two weeks after resident has moved in ensure they have settled in, confirm contact details and report any housing management issues.
*Promote tenant independence by assisting residents organise and run social events for themselves.
*Manage low level ASB working in conjunction with Housing and Neighbourhood and ASB officers.
*Work in partnership with the Income Collection Team assist minimise arrears, ensuring that the process is understood and agreements for repayment of any debt are made.

The Candidate
be considered for this role, you will require previous experience providing housing management within a sheltered housing scheme. Good experience of carrying out health and safety checks and tenancy sustainment will also be essential.

The Contract
This is a part time role, working 20 hours per week and is a temporary role on an initial 6-month contract, which has potential to be extended.
