Job description: We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Children's Social Work Team Manager to provide strategic leadership in the Wakefield area and enable the continuation of outcome improvements for children and families.

As Team Manager, the successful candidate will provide strategic and operational management to a multi-disciplinary team to enable the fulfilment of requirements set out in the governments Working Together to Safeguard Children strategy.

You will lead or support all areas of activity, including:

* Managing the work of the Business Team
* Processing of Serious Case reviews
* Coordinating forums and chairing multi agency meetings in relation to operational safeguarding issues
* Providing advice and guidance on all safeguarding matters.

You will need to have a detailed knowledge and understanding in the field of safeguarding children and child protection, together with extensive experience of managing the risk of harm to individuals and the wider community within a safeguarding and public protection context. You will also need to have experience in managing practitioners involved in safeguarding, who work with vulnerable young people and effectively manage the additional demands this puts on them.

You will lead a team with an overarching responsibility to improve outcomes for children and their families and to strengthen the partnership approach to safeguarding children and families.

The rate of pay for the successful candidate is negotiable depending on skills and experience. This position is initially for a 2 month contract and we are looking for the successful candidate to start within the next 2 weeks.
