Job description: The ideal Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist will provide a highly skilled service to patients within Special Schools or within their own home -dysphagia experience is essential.


This is a temporary three-month contract- likely to be extended with Full-time hours (however Part-time hours will be considered for the correct candidate)


Band 6 OR 7 Speech and Language Therapist, with an immediate start, in Birmingham!


Daily roles include,


*To provide a specialist speech and language service to patients diagnosed with a neurological condition in a range of community settings using highly developed specialist practice underpinned by theoretical knowledge/neuro qualifications.
*To be a specialist resource of information for health and social care staff, patients, families, carers and external agencies who may require advice, support and guidance in the management of these patients.
*To transfer individual patient's on-going care to other agencies as appropriate and ensure that the service provided is conducted in a professional, efficient and effective way.
*To meet the service specification objectives and key performance indicators as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing high-quality neuro services


Essential Skills,

-Minimum of 1 years experience in the NHS.
-Good organisation skills, demonstrating an ability to work under pressure
-HCPC Registration.
-Specialist knowledge as an SLT to a degree Level.
-Full-UK driving license with access to a vehicle
-IT and computer literate to include competent use of Microsoft Office tools, Internet, Intranet, RiO database systems.
-Ability to independently travel around the Trust - must have a car
-Good verbal and written communication skills
