Job description: A Local Authority based in North London is looking for an Asset Management/Stock Condition Surveyor to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have experience in a similar role, ideally experience with Post Grenfell Issues and tall blocks over 18m in height and a full relevant construction qualification.

The main purpose of the role is to play a key role in ensuring that the Council collects and maintains accurate and comprehensive Stock Condition data in order to inform central government returns and long term investment decisions.

Additional responsibilities will include;

Day to day management of the Asset Management consultants. It is expected that the post holder will undertake their own research in support of the team's asset management function.
Developing a wide knowledge of the stock and the ability to identify, prioritise and programme stock condition surveys that support delivery of long term investment needs.
Recommending specific estates or properties for further option appraisal and additional investment.
Surveying properties based on strategic objectives and experience and knowledge of the stock.
Identifying and promoting environmental sustainability investment opportunities.
Liaising with other teams (e.g. Capital Programme Delivery, Engineers and Housing Operations).
Liaising with residents to gain access and providing information if required.
Responding to ad-hoc requests for surveys/inspections or advice in response to either Council officer/Member or resident queries or complaints and preparing reports where required.
Ensuring the accuracy of condition data on the Northgate Housing Management System and the Codeman system

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills/attributes;

Having a compliancy type manager or building control officer may be more suited than traditional surveyor - but they wouldn't be discounted
Applicant will have good all round knowledge of buildings, materials, design, legislation and will not only be responsible for a range of technical duties
Level 5 qualification in a building-related subject and at least 2 years' post qualification experience of maintenance and surveying services.
A minimum of 5 years' general experience of building surveying.
Can demonstrate a sound knowledge and experience of undertaking stock condition surveys on all types of housing stock - traditional and non-traditional construction.

The client is looking to move quickly with filling this role and as such is offering £22 - £24 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx. £530 - £570 p/week after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
