Job description: Support Assistant, London SE9
A large housing association are recruiting for a permanent Support Assistant to provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable people to help them sustain their homes in South East London

The Role
The focus of the role is to improve the quality of life the service users, building confidence and skills to allow them to live independently while playing an active role in their communities. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable people to help them sustain their homes and to live in the community, monitoring their well-being and referring onto more specialist staff if necessary.
*Assist with practical skills which may include life skills enablement as required.
*Provide support in partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies in the community, liaising with other agencies as necessary to ensure customers receive appropriate advice and support.
*Raise customer awareness of local services and facilities and support engagement with these services.
*Work in collaboration with other departments to ensure a seamless service to customers and that key performance targets are met.
*Carry out support planning, risk assessments and reviews for lower need customers
*Provide a broad range of lower-end support tasks to a caseload of customers, such as monitoring and tackling social isolation and ensuring customers are well supported throughout their engagement with the service.
*Refer more complex cases to a Support Officer.
*Support customers to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education and work.
*Assist customers with receipt of all entitled benefits and services.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require the following skills and experience:
*Ability to motivate and support vulnerable adults
*Ability to manage a caseload of customers
*Ability to carry out and develop support plans and risk assessments with customers, working together on achieving individual goals
*IT skills including use of Microsoft packages such as Word
*Ability to manage and maintain administration and recording systems

The Package
This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week on a 5 week rolling rota. The role offeres a salary of £18,000 , as well as the following benefits:
