Job description: Support Officer - Camden
A large housing association are recruiting for a Support Officer to carry out support planning and risk assessments for their high needs supported housing residents in Camden.

The Role
The focus of the role is to carry out support planning and risk assessments for high need customers.
This will involve the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Create an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence
*Collaborating with relevant community agencies to ensure customers receive appropriate advice and support.
*Responsible for engaging with customers and raising their awareness of local services and facilities to ensure they have access to training, education and work.
*Working closely with other departments, you'll ensure that key performance targets are met and that all customer records are up to date.
*In accommodation based services, liaise closely with the Housing Management Team to identify problems with Housing Benefit payments, review rent collection and address other tenancy-related matters
*Set up and maintain customer files and ensure that accurate and up to date records are kept of support provided to customers in accordance with HCS policies including on the MPS IT system

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require the following skills and experience:
*Previous experience working in social housing with an understanding of the issues affecting social housing tenants
*Experience of working with vulnerable people with a range of needs in a support capacity
*Good communication skills and the ability to engage with, and respect the needs of, vulnerable people
*IT skills including the use of Microsoft packages - ideally prior experience of MPS and Capita
*To manage and maintain administration and recording systems
*To comply with policies & procedures, including: Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Customer Care
*To be willing to travel around Camden

The Contract
This is a permanent role offering a salary of £21,000 per annum. Working hours are 9:00 - 17:00 - Monday - Friday (Occasional event evening which may need to be worked out of normal working hours)
The client are passionate to support their staff with further training in a career within mental health, and/or with accumulating the work experience necessary for applications for Clinical/Counselling Doctorates or other counselling/therapeutic qualifications.
