Job description: An exciting new opportunity has recently become available for a Support Worker to join a private supported living service for older adults within South West Barnet.

Applicant does not need to drive for the role.

Temporary pay rate: £10ph ltd

Hours and length of contract:
*Full time: 35 hours per week (5 shifts)
*Part time could be considered
*Mix of shifts:
oEarlies: 07:00-14:30
oLates: 14:30-22:00
*Flexible rota, including weekends
*The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP with an initial 3-month contract length (likelihood of extension)

Daily Duties:
The client operates nationwide and is one of the UK's leading providers of affordable housing and support services and they support both older adults and also those with mental health or learning disability needs.

You will be working within a 24/7 service that consists of approximately 40 one bedroom flats and apartments for older people, including couples. These service users are over 60 years old and require a minimum of 10 hours support each week due to being registered as either disabled of having additional care needs.

You will be supporting older adults within their flats on a day-to-day basis to help them be independent as possible and improve their quality of life, this could include moving and handling individuals and their wheelchairs if required, encouraging residents to take part in activities, administering any medication and updating records and care plans.

The job role is fast paced as you will be constantly moving from flat-to-flat as and when support is required, and the successful individual will need to be flexible to ensure individual needs are met while maximising independence, choice, privacy and well-being.

Person specification:
The applicant must be DBS cleared and have previous experience in the field.
