Job description: My Client based within York City and the surrounding area is looking for Support Workers to visit Service users within their own home. The service users you will be supporting are mostly older adults but my client also helps adults with LD.

The role will work on shift patterns which can be altered to meet your needs:

These shifts include:
*Monday 7am to 2pm * and/ or 3.30pm to 10pm.
*Friday 7am to 2pm * and/ or 3.30pm to 10pm.
*Every other weekend 7am to 2pm * and/ or 3.30pm to 10pm.
Note: for those opting to work both a morning and evening shift, arrangements will be made for them to do a shorter morning shift in order to have a break before the evening shift

There are more shifts available at other times for those seeking full time hours, however anybody applying for this role must be willing to work Monday, Fridays and every other weekend.

As a care assistant examples of duties could be: assistance with meal preparation, personal care, administering medication, shopping, providing companionship. To work with our client it is essential that you genuinely care for others and possess good communication skills. In addition to this a full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. (mopeds are also suitable)

We pride ourselves on the quality of our service and are looking for people who share our passion for excellent care. We value our staff and see them as the key to success for our business. We believe that the best way to deliver excellent care is to have a great team of staff.

Our staff have recently completed an anonymous feedback survey and we scored 100% in the following areas which shows we truly value our staff.

* Initial training and support
* Recommending our services
* Initial training preparing you for the first visit
* Support from your supervisor
* Everyone was clear about what was expected from their role

Care experience is useful but not essential as full training is provided to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge required to provide excellent care. Perhaps you have looked after a relative or friend. This is valuable experience and counts. What is more important to us is that you genuinely care. You will receive continued support and award winning training throughout your career with this client and there are opportunities for personal development for those hoping to build a real career in the care industry.

Our Client only want the best joining our team of care workers. We offer £8.50 per hour, increasing to £9.00 per hour at weekends, with enhanced rates for bank holidays and Christmas. We also pay mileage which can equate to at least another £1.00 per hour, 28 days paid holiday a year (pro rata), a work mobile phone, uniform and fleece.

We appreciate the importance of a work-life balance for our care workers, so if you want to know when you are working and when you are not, earn decent money and be valued for doing a professional job then please apply.
