Job description: Are you looking for a new Full Time position? Do you have experience providing care and support to people with learning disabilities?

Service Care Solutions is looking for Support workers a learning disability nursing home in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The post holder will be working mainly early and late shifts, with the possibility of some nights - working 37.5 hours per week between Monday-Sunday. The role will be on an initial Temporary basis with a view to giving the right candidate a permanent post.

Job Purpose:
Providing care and support to people with learning difficulties and to help them achieve and maintain maximum independence through effective teamwork.


Duties:

-Provide personal care for people unable to care for themselves as required by their need, culture and wishes and maintaining their rights, dignity and privacy.
-To provide appropriate information and support to enable to make choices about all aspects of their lives.
-Encourage people to carry out normal day to day activities and support them to improve their skills.
-Support people to live safely in their homes, manage their finances and carry out domestic duties.
-Support people safely outside their homes where needed or wish exists. e.g. GP/Dental appointments, shopping, leisure trips, holidays etc.
-Assist in developing, implementing and reviewing person centred plans.
-Support and encourage the development of friendships and participation in the local community.

-Attend all relevant training programmes and company meetings as required.
-Carry out all necessary administration and keep all records up to date.
-Ensure all aspects of the company's Health & Safety policy are maintained.
-Carry out any duties as required by management/senior support workers or team leader.

Essential:
-Prepared to work shifts, sleep ins, accompany people on outings and holidays and cover for staff sickness and leave.
-Prepared to work in other areas of the company when needed.
-Able to work alone and as part of a team.

Desirable:
-Previous experience of supporting people with Learning disabilities
-full driving licence
-Health and social care diploma level 2 or 3
-cash handling skills
