Job description: Band 3 Support Workers are needed for both Mental Health and Learning Disability NHS Services in Ipswich for short term contracts with guaranteed consistent work and competitive rates of pay!

All roles are for an initial 3 month contract length and likelihood of extension!

Temporary pay rate:
*Days £11ph
*Nights & Saturdays: £14ph
*Sundays & Bank: £17ph

ROLE 1: COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH
*Full Time: Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00
*Youth Team, Ipswich IDT (community role)
*Applicant must drive and have access to a car.
*Daily Duties:
oWorking as part of the Youth Team you will carry a case load within the community and assess the mental health of service users aged 14-25.
oYou will record assessments and notes electronically and therefore excellent verbal, written and IT skills are essential.
oYou will have the ability to work without direct supervision and will liaise appropriately with practitioners in the team.
oYou will be familiar with CPA framework and will work respectfully according to service users and their family's needs.

ROLE 2: WARD LEARNING DISABILITY & MENTAL HEALTH
*Full or Part Time Shifts:
oEarly 6.45hrs-14.45hrs
oLate 13.15 hrs- 21.15hrs
oNight 20.45-07.15hrs
*LD Inpatient Assessment & Treatment (ward based role)
*Daily Duties:
oWorking as part of the Acute Adult Inpatient Service you will support service users who are acutely mentally ill and also have additional communication and behavioural needs due to living with a learning disability.
oThe ideal candidate will have skills in alternative communication methods e.g. Makaton
oYou will work as part of the MDT and therefore good interpersonal skills, positive behavioural skills are essential as well as the ability to prevent and manage/deescalate aggression when required.
oIT skills are also essential as you will be expected to maintain patient records.

Person specification:
The applicant must be DBS cleared and have previous experience in the field.
