Job description: We are currently recruiting for a very unique and exciting opportunity for a Support worker to support a Social Worker with a visual impairment in the Kirklees area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within the social work sector and make a positive impact on the life of a social worker, enabling them to continue their fantastic work.

This role will involve to meeting the client in the mornings and escorting to the social work office. You will support with typing up assessment and reading emails and also data in-putting onto carefirst. Support will be needed to walk up to the wards and observe environment and support social worker with taking notes and observing patients. Support to walk back to social work office, support to collect lunch, support back to the admin office at the end of the day to be met by taxi. Support with reading reports and proof reading reports and documents.

We are looking for candidates who:

* have experience of working in an administrative setting undertaking general office duties, ability to use a computer including microsoft word and Excel AD able to help with diary management in Microsoft Outlook.

* have literacy skills to be able to produce a variety of documents, read documents (e.g. Council minutes, reports and journal extracts) and proof read documents.

* can display understanding of disability issues including the role of a Support Worker.

* have ability to relay accurate information both verbally and in writing.

* have ability to put visual information into words and be able to understand and explain non-verbal communications e.g. body language etc

* are able to make observations and relay relevant information.

** It is also essential that you are a car driver with access to your own vehicle. **
