Job description: A local authority in Slough is currently recruiting for an experienced Support Worker to provide an independent living service to their residents, providing support with housing matters as well as general health and wellbeing.

The Role
In this Support Worker role, you will provide a reliable, and personalised service which meets the individual needs of the service user while respecting confidentiality, empowering service users to become as independent as possible and to regain or maintain confidence in a wide range of areas.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Managing a caseload, reviewing on a regular basis.
*To develop strong partnership links with the full range of external agencies and professionals
*To promote social inclusion and community connections.
*To be able to recognise respond and report any safeguarding concerns.
*To support service users to access welfare benefit advice.
*Support service users with all aspects of tenancy sustainment.
*To support service users to claiming their full benefit entitlement and assist with budgeting and managing personal finances
*To ensure that service users receive all necessary advice and support regarding physical, mental health and general wellbeing.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Support Worker role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:
*Previous housing related support experience
*Knowledge of the housing benefit system
*A level or equivalent NVQ 3/4 in Social Care or higher professional qualification
*Strong IT Skills
As you will be working with vulnerable individuals, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential for this role.

The Package
This is a full time Support Worker role, working 37 hours per week, on a 5/7 day rota, offering a salary of £18,000 - £22,000 dependent on experience.
