Job description: Support Worker (Tenancy Sustainment), Waltham Abbey
A large housing association are recruiting for two Support Workers and two Night Cover vacancies for one of their Supported Housing Schemes in Waltham Abbey, assisting their service users with regards to tenancy sustainment and independent living.

The Role
The focus of the Support Worker role is to delivery of excellent customer centred care and support, taking a person centred and positive risk taking approach to enable customers to maintain and improve their independence, effectively manage and improve their personal safety and improve their social, emotional and mental wellbeing
This involves:
*Undertaking assessments of customers' support and safety needs and aspirations
*Together with the customer developing customer centred support and safety (risk management) plans focused on enabling the customer to achieve the outcomes that matter to them
*Keeping support and safety plans under review and working with customers to ensure that changes to their circumstances are reflected in their best interests in their support and safety plans
*Responding to emergent risks including clinical/medical emergencies, referring customers to external agencies as appropriate
*Supporting customers to participate in Genesis improvement and engagement activities
*Provide and support the provision of excellent and continuously improving housing related support and housing management services
*Support customers to maintain their current tenancy including claiming housing benefit, paying rents and charges, managing arrears, keeping the property in good condition and being a good neighbour
*Address incidents and complaints of anti-social behaviour, taking management action and using mediation skills and/or services to minimise the risk of service disruption or escalation of anti-social behaviour
*Support customers who want to move on to permanent or other appropriate housing to do so, providing advice and guidance
The Night Cover vacancies, are less focussed on support and are geared more towards the security of the scheme overnight, and the provision of a concierge service, though there will be a support aspect.

The Candidate
To be considered for these roles, you will require previous experience within supported housing, ideally working with those at risk of homelessness and providing tenancy sustainment related support. Due to the client-base, you will also require an enhanced DBS.

The Contract
These are temporary contracts, running until the end of September 2019, though they are likely to be extended. The roles are full time, working on a rota basis that will be agreed with the hiring manager.
