Job description: One of the largest housing associations in Essex is recruiting for a permanent service manager to lead the busy teams at two mental health supported living services, which are both based in Benfleet, Essex.

The Role
The purpose of this role is to lead and manage day to day operations of the service, including line management of a staff team of support assistants. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, innovative service which develop a reputation for the client as a provider of excellent, distinctive services. This will include the:
*To be responsible for the management of the service in order to meet the needs and aspirations of service users, commissioners and regulatory authorities and develop a reputation for Estuary for excellent delivery of distinctive services.
*To positively contribute to the directorates business plan and corporate objectives and to facilitate the active participation of Support Assistants in achieving objectives
*Develop, maintain and work in partnership with a network of key stakeholders in order to deliver safe, high quality services
*To identify recommend and implement improvements to the service given CQC and commissioning requirements, best practice and business plan priorities to achieve distinct, high quality service provision
*To be responsible for the recruitment, development and management of staff in order to provide them with the skills, experience and behaviours necessary to provide a safe, high quality services
*Through effective people management, develop a high performing team
*Manage budgets and funding streams in order to ensure the delivery of cost effective services
*Develop and manage support services that meet the needs and aspirations of service users
*To contribute to the development of policy and procedure and to be accountable for the operational implementation of those policies and legislation that governs them
*Full line management/supervision of team, supporting them to develop and thrive within their roles
*Rota management
*Budget/funding management and financial administration
*CQC and health and safety compliance
*Liaison with partnership agencies, commissioners, service users' families and other third parties

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require an experienced social care manager with the following:
*In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, best practice and local/national agendas relating to mental health / adult social care
*Ability to act as a registered manager
*Experience of managing complex teams successfully
*Excellent ICT skills, financial literacy and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

The Contract
This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week; generally 9:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday although some occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
The salary for this vacancy is £30,993 and you also benefit from 23 days annual leave, plus bank holidays; an excellent pension scheme, and free healthcare.
