Job description: Systems Development Officer
A local authority in Nottingham are recruiting for a Systems Development Officer to join the Housing department.

The Role
In this role you will provide knowledge, expertise and support for our key business applications, managing the business applications lifecycle including custom developed, as well as corporate-wide or specialist applications.
You will work closely with others to support the overall applications architecture and engage with various departments across the business to ensure a joined up service and to deliver training for the company as and when required.
You will offer expertise and business knowledge on optimising applications to drive change within the organisation.
As part of your role you will work using your initiative, where you will be responsible for effective resource management, adhering to regulations and always looking for the best value for money in the projects you undertake.
Key Accountabilities for the role will include:
*Manage the entire business applications lifecycle as directed by the ICT Manager. Applications may include custom developed, as well as corporate wide or specialist applications.
*Provide product roadmaps and enhancements, support and undertake application customisations to deliver business outcomes leveraging project management frameworks. Maintains and prioritises change control for application enhancements and requests,
*Works closely with the System Analyst to support the overall applications architecture and delivery to enable IT transformative change
*Works closely with the Training Officer and Organisation Development to provide training/support to applications.
*Provides knowledge and expertise to the company's key business applications
*Works closely with ICT to resolve application issues and problems proactively looking to minimise loss of service and
*application downtime

The Candidate
You will bring knowledge of housing applications such as Northgate, DRS, 1st Touch and ROCC as well as an understanding of business transformation.
Experience in systems development and technology - including databases, web and integration - would be beneficial as would knowledge of SQL development.
In addition, you will be highly PC literate, with the ability to use a wide range of MS Office programmes, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.
The role requires the candidate to show effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise with external suppliers, partners and key stakeholders in order to effectively deliver complex changes.

The Contract
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a high possibility of being extended. The role is full time, working 37 hours per week.
The salary on offer is £29,636- £32,029 per annum, dependent on experience.
