Job description: Team Manager (Social Work) needed for Cornwall Council, £35 ltd per hour

Start Date- ASAP
Contract End date- Role can be offered on an ongoing basis for 2-3 years
Hours per week - 37
Pay rate - £35 ltd an hour
Team - Adult Safeguarding Triage
Location - Truro

Purpose:
The primary purpose of the role is to manage and oversee the Adult Safeguarding Triage process and to support practitioners within the Triage, within adult social care and within the wider multi-agency group to work together effectively to safeguard adults. The Triage provides the first point of contact and risk assessment in respect of safeguarding referrals for adults with care and support needs who are deemed to be at risk of abuse in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and agreed referral and service thresholds.
Responsibilities include managing the adult safeguarding concerns inbox, ensuring timely screening of all concerns received and allocating work in order of priority to the Triage workers on a daily basis. The role involves providing specialised advised and guidance via the professional consultation line. The role also involves identifying patterns and trends of abuse / neglect / concerns and escalating appropriately to Service Manager and via safeguarding procedures.

What is required?
*Professional expertise in adult social care, assessment and care management, including experience of mentoring, coaching or supervising colleagues in health and/or social care teams.
*An applied knowledge of adult safeguarding, including the changes under the Care Act.
*Experience of working constructively in a multiagency environment in order to provide Adult's Services
*A relevant professional qualification in social work or health care (such as nursing or OT) and registration with the relevant professional body/council
*Evidence of post-qualifying professional training
*Enhanced DBS
