A new role working within the Youth Offending Service has recently become available. The position is that of a Team Manager who will be responsible for all day to day duties and responsibilities of a team of staff, will make sure all work is carried out to the highest of standards and follows all policies and procedures correctly.

Responsibilities
*To carry out a high standard of operational leadership, which follows service-wide vision and objectives, driving for any change and constant improvements.
*Coordination of the work team to make sure all individual and team objectives are met.
*Keeping up to date with any changes in relevant policies and legislation to ensure that your own work area is effective.
*Providing expert guidance and advice on youth justice and children' social care to all staff members.
*To undertake project work, programme development and any additional duties as may be required.
*Design and present any training packages for staff, magistrates and other stakeholders.
*To attend all internal meetings as well as represent the Youth Offending Service at any external interviews.
*To undertake other duties that might be reasonably requested from time to time - which may include being needed on a weekend or on the occasional evening.

Qualifications
*You will not be considered for the role without the following -
A Degree in social work (HCPC registered) or a Degree in Community Justice with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Studies. Alternatively, educated to degree level together with a Youth Justice professional certificate in Effective practice.

Experience Required
*Experience of supervising and managing staff in a relevant setting
*Knowledge of using Youth Offending Informative System (YOIS), care works databases and other relevant data systems.

Key Skills Required
*The ability to manage several people, performances and budgets
*Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
*Be able to contribute to the longer term development of the service area.
*Great time management and organisational skills
