Job description: My client, a local authority in Somerset, is looking for a Technology Implementation Manager to work on an initial 3 month contract basis.

The council and it's partner are embarking on an exciting programme of change which will create a new council and totally transform the way they work. They are adopting a commercial model of service delivery enabled by the latest technology. This will ensure they are modern, and efficient, and able to deliver the ambitions they have for the communities.

The innovative and fast-moving programme encompasses change to how they deliver services to their customers (internally and externally), how they operate as an organisation, how they structure their staffing resource, and how they "do business".

They are looking for a Technology Implementation Manager to lead the technology workstream. This is a key role within the Transformation Team. The postholder will lead on the UTP implementation, and will oversee the other technology projects within the programme - allowing a safe and managed handover to "BAU" when complete.

They are looking for applicants who have energy, drive, a customer focus, and experience to help them implement the technology changes required to meet their ambitions. To succeed in this role you'll have a good understanding of the transformation ambition of the organisation and of technology enabled change.

Experience of managing organisation wide projects would be helpful, as would a clear understanding of technology enabled change, and working in a business environment.

In addition to this you'll also need to:

* Be a skilled leader and "people" person, able to guide and motivate others, and bring the best out of the team delivering technology projects
* Demonstrable ability to plan, manage and get the most from resources allocated
* Have the ability to work influentially with a variety of stakeholders and convey complex information in a clear and compelling way
* Possess an enthusiasm and drive to succeed coupled with flexibility to adapt to changes along the way.
