Job description: I am currently recruiting for a Telecare Officer based in Wandsworth. This is a temporary position for 12 weeks initially with the potential to extend. You would be working 35 hours Monday to Friday.

You will be required to work as part of the Supported Housing Service. You will assist with the assessment of clients in their own home for telecare monitoring equipment to improve safety and independence at home and to give reassurance to family and carers.

In this role, your responsibilities will include the following:
*Responding to pull-cord and lifeline calls - judging situations and informing emergency service / next of kin as appropriate
*Handling council out of hours calls, including general queries and repairs focussed calls
To be successful in this role, you will require experience in a phone-based customer service, or care-focussed role, or ideally a mixture of the two. Due to the nature of the clients, you must be patient and compassionate with the ability to handle highly-stressed situations and be comfortable to use your judgement to make difficult decisions.

The position would suit an individual who has worked as an occupational therapy assistant with knowledge and experience of functional assessments, however this is not essential.
