Job description: Tenancy & Estate Management Officer, Loughborough
A local authority in Loughborough are recruiting for a Tenancy and Estates Management Officer with previous experience of all tenancy and estates issues to join their team and cover a period of long term sickness.

The Role
The focus of this role is to provide a holistic approach to the management of properties owned by the council - in this position you will be responsible for all tenancy and estate management functions, with the exclusion of ASB and rents. Your responsibilities will include:
*To support the Housing Services Manager and Housing Team Leader in the management of an excellent customer focussed tenancy and estate management service.
*Take full responsibility for the tenancy and estate management of council dwellings for a designated housing area being the point of contact for all service users, partners and stakeholders.
*Establish and maintain a highly visible presence within your designated area; ensuring that the estates are regularly monitored and well maintained, and that the tenancy and estate management service reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community.
*To manage tenancies to ensure compliance with tenancy conditions (excluding anti-social behaviour) and undertake any associated work regarding preventative or enforcement action regarding breaches of tenancy.
*Effectively work with the repairs and investment directorate on all aspects of maintenance whether it be responsive or planned and assist with any consultation exercises where required.
*Work alongside colleagues in the Council to ensure that our estates and communities are managed effectively and that our residents receive a holistic service.
*Ensure effective liaison with Tenancy Support and other agencies to provide additional care and support to our most vulnerable tenants.
*Working within the Service Level Agreements monitor all estates on a regular basis, encouraging residents, partners and stakeholders to assist.
*In conjunction with colleagues via a rota system ensure that the office is covered at all times and that visitors to reception are seen upon request within the agreed service standards.
*Working in conjunction with the repairs team, ensure that no access relating to the annual gas servicing visit is monitored and action taken where necessary.
*Assist with the launch of Choice Based Lettings and complete any paperwork necessary for the swift turnaround and letting of all void properties.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require previous tenancy and estates management experience, as well as:
*Experience in participating in multi-agency working.
*Experience in handling difficult customers in a compassionate and sensitive manner
*Experience of proactively promoting and undertaking face to face and group meetings to reach effective and agreeable outcomes.
*Experience in the use of a variety of IT systems
*Ability to make decisions, take the initiative and work under own direction.

The Contract
This is a short-term contract, for an initial one month period. Though has a chance of being extended.
