Job description: Looking for a new role in York? Service Care are looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude.

Grade: Transport Driver
Hours: Shift Pattern
Location: Clifton Moor, York
Start date: ASAP

KEY DUTIES:

*Drivers are responsible for the daily road safety checks, cleaning and maintaining of the transport vehicles on a daily basis prior to starting duties and reporting any faults to the office.

*Drivers will be required to understand a range of work procedures and practices, including the knowledge of and understanding of various individual work schedules.

*Drivers are responsible for handling and transporting a range of goods including expensive equipment, controlled drugs, food items, medical gases, pathology samples, foul linen etc. They are responsible for the signed collection and delivery of controlled drugs. Drivers are responsible for the safe delivery and security of all items whilst in transit.

*There may be, on occasion the need for the post holder to come in to cover driver's roles due to sickness/holidays.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Drivers will be required to participate in an initial and ongoing training programme covering all work schedules and food hygiene.

*Drivers must be willing and able to change schedules mid shift, if required and be willing to undertake other non-routine work as required.

*Drivers are required to maintain a smart and professional image at all times and including the wearing of the issued uniform and any necessary protective clothing.

*Drivers are required to follow departmental polices and are encouraged to comment on these to help develop effectives procedures and practices.

*Drivers are responsible for keeping accurate driving logs and time sheets as required.

*Drivers should ensure the maintenance of good relationships, communications and teamwork with colleagues.

*Drivers should ensure that they attend any statutory and mandatory training in liaison with their manager.
