Job description: Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Violence Reduction Unit Senior Analyst on a temporary, full time basis based in Morley, Leeds.

Role Overview:
Manage the coordination, evaluation, analysis and understanding of data from other partner organisations such as police and health authorities across West Yorkshire to enhance understanding of the incidence and causes of violent crime and to measure the impact of interventions to prevent and reduce violence.

Key Responsibilities:

-Work with other members of the VRU team, in particular the Knowledge Hub Manager, Information Governance Lead and the Research & Evaluation Officers to identify the data requirements of the VRU from a range of partner agencies and devise systems to effectively gather and store that data
-Undertake complex analysis, presentation, interpretation and understanding of data, including identifying trends.
-Draw on a wide range of partnership, community and population health data in order to develop a deep and rich understanding of violence to inform the development of strategic needs profiles for districts and West Yorkshire. Ensure that these are regularly reviewed and up to date.
-Develop excellent collaborative working relationships with a range of colleagues in partner agencies to support the production of robust, influential data reports to inform district initiatives and the broader West Yorkshire VRU Response Strategy
-Ensure robust processes are developed and maintained to support the provision of effective intelligence analysis, which must include effective communication between key stakeholders at a local, regional and national level
- Prepare and present reports to a range of internal and external audiences in collaboration with the Research and Evaluation Officers
-Work with key stakeholders in partner agencies to develop a shared analysis and understanding of the causes of violence to inform effective preventative interventions to support a consistent and complementary approach to tackling violence and its causes across West Yorkshire
-Support the development, planning and delivery of awareness raising by the preparation and where required the delivery, of verbal and written presentations to key stakeholders and at briefing events to and for the VRU Director
- Work closely with Public Health colleagues to help to provide information that's essential both for identifying issues that have a negative effect on people's health and wellbeing, and for planning to deal with those issues in relation to the activities of the Violence Reduction Unit

Essential Criteria:

-Previous relevant experience or degree level/professional qualification in a related subject
-Proven experience of a high level of critical/analytical thinking with innovative and creative approaches to problem solving
-Experience of the collection and analysis of complex data sets
- In-depth working knowledge and ability to operate computerised databases
- Excellent report writing and analytical presentation skills
- Proven experience of ability to work in a pressured environment with competing demands and the ability to deliver to strict deadlines and targets
- Ability and willingness to regularly travel nationally and across West Yorkshire
- Be available outside normal hours to provide advice and support to the Police and Crime Commissioner and Violence Reduction Unit
- Able to work flexibly to support the work of the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner and VRU.

The successful candidate will be subject to Police Vetting. As a result, candidates must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
