Job description: Ward Host(ess) (COVID-19) - Coventry
A hospital in Coventry, which is focussing on the treatment of COVID-19 patients, is recruiting for a Ward Host(ess) to assist with food preparation, cleaning and patient engagement on the Coronavirus wards.

The Role
Please note that in these roles you will be working in a very high-risk environment.
The role will involve working around confirmed COVID-19 patients, most of whom will be fully or partially ventilated.
You will receive an induction/training session which will cover health and safety, infection control and specific task training.
The role will include cleaning and interacting with patients, as well as the following:
*To assist in the preparation of patient food in a hygienic manner following all instructions given.
*To engage with the patients to feel welcome and relaxed with their time in our care.
*Communicate with the kitchen to ensure that all food orders are made and are what are required by the patient/visitor.
*Keep the pantry clean and tidy at all times to stay in the condition laid out in service level agreement and to meet all legal and company responsibilities.
*Assist the manger and supervisor to achieve service level agreements, health and safety requirements.
*Complete all audit and quality standards documentation as required.
*Ensure that patient's dietary requirements are provided for.
*Ad-hoc duties as and when required

The Candidate
As this is a ward based position, any previous hospital-based experience will be highly beneficial to your application. Due to the environment you will be working in, you will need to be able to handle difficult situations. A DBS is required for the role, so if you already have a DBS on the update service, this will be beneficial to your application.

The Shifts
This role will be working shifts and you will be working 07:00-15:00

The Contract
This is a full time role, on an ongoing contract, which will continue until the Coronavirus pandemic has slowed to a sufficient pace, or potentially ended.
