Job description: A Berkshire based council are recruiting for a Welfare Reform Officer based in Slough, to work within a busy Arrears and Investigations Team. This will require the correct candidate to implement initiatives to minimise the impacts of welfare reform and introduction of Universal Credit.

The Role
Your key duties within the role will include:
-Investigate and implement initiatives to minimise the impacts of welfare reform and introduction of Universal Credit
-Identify, contact and advise tenants at risk of the accurate factual changes to their household income and support them to understand their options
-Work with external partners and agencies to develop options for residents to mitigate the impact of welfare reforms, ensuring they are able to make appropriate decisions based on their individual circumstances
-Keep up to date with changes in legislation and regulation that affect the payment of welfare benefits
-To support the team promote and publicise welfare benefits reforms and wider financial inclusion themes, including, bank accounts, credit unions, direct debits etc
The Candidate
-Good applied knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits and the statutory framework in which they operate
-Knowledge and understanding of pending welfare benefits reforms and the statutory framework in which they operate
The Contract
This is a contact starting 23st December up to 31st March 2019, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
