Job description: Winter Provision Co-ordinator, Brighton
A local authority in East Sussex are recruiting for a Winter Provision Coordinator to join their team in Brighton and coordinate the operation and provision of cold weather provision for rough sleepers.

The Role
The focus of this role coordinate the operation and provision of cold weather provision for rough sleepers, through work with key partners and stakeholders to ensure that provision best meets the needs of rough sleepers and that Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) operates in line with the trigger and can accommodate every person who needs shelter.
*To ensure that sufficient staff are in place for a range of services that they are properly supervised, supported and trained with a clear understanding of their responsibilities and performance targets.
*To ensure that service provision over the winter meets the needs of rough sleepers needing shelter and accommodation over the winter months including coordinating the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol.
*Have a clear overview of all people rough sleeping in the city and require more appropriate services to meet their needs and report this information to Commissioners.
*The post holder will develop and maintain close working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies including Housing, Adult Social Care, Health Services, and Substance Misuse Services. The aim is to enable joint working and facilitate positive service provision and access for rough sleepers.
*The post holder will update and utilise the think database and record service access and case notes for service users as required.
*To ensure that the requisite professional standards are maintained and that professional activities take place to ensure implementation and evaluation of services aimed at meeting the needs of clients.
*To ensure that there is sufficient cover in place in accordance with the developed rota programme for different services.
*To ensure that information on welfare rights and housing options are available and that arrangements exist for the effective processing of housing benefit claims for clients

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require experience of working with one or more of the following: mental health difficulties, personality disorders, rough sleepers, substance/alcohol misuse, self-harm, obsessive / addictive disorders, challenging behaviour, ex-offenders, dual diagnosis in a frontline service.
Any experience of project co-ordination will also be highly beneficial, as will any experience of SWEP.

The Contract
This is a 4 month temporary contract, covering the winter period. 37 hrs a week, though you must be flexible to potentially include some evening work. Would consider candidates seeking 30 hours per week also.
