Job description: The role:

This role is a challenging, yet extremely rewarding role where you will be making an active difference in young peoples' lives. As a Youth Offending Officer, you will be seeing to all matters in relation to the assessment and case management of young people who have been identified as offenders or at risk of offending. You will be working with your caseload in order to try and actively address their offending behaviour and reduce their risk of re-offending. In addition to this you will be responsible for delivering high quality analysis and intervention plans, completing reports and enforcing orders within designated timescales.

Requirements:

In order to be successful for this role you must have either be qualified to degree level with at least 1 years' worth of experience working with young people in a criminal justice setting, or have at least 3 years' worth of experience working with complex cases of children and young people. Similarly, you must have substantial knowledge of legislation and current practices in relation to children and young people, along with an in depth understanding of programmes of interventions that can be effective for young people.
