Job description: Hours: 37 per week Monday-Friday (however flexibility will be needed from time to time, hours may sometimes be longer and could potentially be over weekends)
A new opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to make a difference with youth offenders in North London. You will be working as a member of the multi-agency Youth Justice Service. You will be reporting to the Youth Justice Service Manager and will handle several different tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis, including:

*Reducing the risk of youths reoffending by regularly completing risk and vulnerability assessments as well as management plans.
*Providing supportive relationships to younger people, their families and carers using your specialist skills.
*Liaising and collaborating with other agencies who work with young offenders. Providing information on changes in legislation, practice and procedures.
*Managing caseloads including the full range of referral, community and custodial orders.
*Attending youth crown courts when is needed.
*Carrying out regular risk assessments and use internal and external agencies to monitor risks of reoffending.
Qualifications Needed
*CQSW, Dip SW, Degree in social work or a diploma in Probation (Relevant qualifications may be considered)
Necessary Experience required
*To have prior experience working with youth offenders and the criminal justice system and of implementing the Children Act of 1989 and 2004 and criminal justice legislation.
*Experience of preparing and presenting pre-sentence/other reports.
*Ability to recognise and deal effectively with safeguarding issues

Key Skills Needed
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a wide variety of people (young people, their families, other agencies and professionals)
*Strong organisational skills
*Ability to work well and remain relaxed under pressure
*Good level of it skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
*Being able to take own initiative as well as part of a team
