Job description: The role will see you acting as a court officer in the youth court as well as supervising young people on a whole range of order which have been imposed by the courts. There will be several different tasks and duties including but not limited to:

*Responsibility for young offenders on statutory court orders
*Liaising and collaborating with other agencies who work with young offenders. Providing information on changes in legislation, practice and procedures.
*Preparing reports and assessments on the youths, as well as using AssetPlus
*Representing the youth offending team in a court environment
*Making sure a high level standard is maintained on cases when using the youth offending teams case management database

Necessary Experience required
*Prior experience working with youth offenders and the criminal justice system and of implementing the Children Act of 1989 and 2004 and criminal justice legislation.
*Experience of preparing and presenting pre-sentence/other reports.
*Ability to recognise and deal effectively with safeguarding issues
*Experience using Asset/AssetPlus


Key Skills Needed
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a wide variety of people (young people, their families, other agencies and professionals)
*Strong organisational skills
*Ability to work well and remain relaxed under pressure
*Good level of it skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
*Being able to take own initiative as well as part of a team
