Youth Offending Service Practice Leader

Job description: The Youth Offending Service in South-East London are looking for a Youth Offending Service Practice Leader to join their YOT team on a full-time basis for a 4-month contract (possibly extended).

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that interventions are delivered effectively within the Youth Offending Service in order to prevent offending behaviour and safeguard children. You will supervise, lead and motivate staff including qualified Social Workers, within a multi-agency team and promote their professional development. As part of the management team, you will provide effective leadership for the service, maintain accurate and up to date case records of your own work, manage a small caseload of complex cases, negotiate effectively with colleagues from all professional backgrounds, undertake comprehensive assessments and prepare quality reports.

Our client is looking for someone who has knowledge about the causes and consequences of offending behaviour and has experience in working with young people who have offended, their parents/carers or working within the criminal justice system. The ideal candidate must be Social Care/Probation qualified and have experience working within the youth offending environment.
