Building Surveying Manager – East Anglia, Local Authority
£47,181 per annum 
37 hours per week

Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveying Manager to join a local authority in East Anglia. The successful candidate will lead a team of Chartered and technical professionals, delivering a high-quality, customer-focused building surveying service across housing assets.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of Building Surveyors and Technical Officers, overseeing allocation, programming, and quality assurance of all works.
• Lead on complex capital and maintenance projects, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Oversee compliance with statutory regulations including Health & Safety, CDM, and Building Regulations.
• Develop and implement service improvement initiatives and policy frameworks to drive best practice.
• Manage major procurement projects, prepare specifications, and oversee tendering processes.
• Monitor significant budgets and report to senior management on performance, risk, and programme delivery.
• Act as professional lead in resolving disputes and customer complaints, ensuring continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
• Chartered Membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or working towards.
• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex construction projects.
• Strong working knowledge of construction legislation, H&S, and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Local authority or social housing experience desirable.
